How to Share a File on Teams or OneDrive

Share files in Teams

  1. In Teams, go to OneDrive > My Files.

  2. Find the file you want to share.  

  3. Hover over the file and select Share.  

    1. Enter the name, group, or email you want to send your file to.

    2. Add an optional message to give the recipient context.

    3. Select Sharing settings to change file permissions.

    4. Go down to the Link settings next to the copy link button and select Can edit from the drop down menu.

    5. Click Apply.

  4. click Send to send an invite in an email or Select Copy link to copy the file link to your clipboard.



Share files from OneDrive

  1. Right click the file and select Share. Or, select a file and select  Share on the toolbar.

  2. Select who you want to share with from the drop-down, or enter a name or email address.

  3. Go down to the Link settings next to the copy link button and select Can edit from the drop down menu.

  4. Click Apply.

  5. Add a message (optional) and select Send.
