Mason Contractor Access - How to Setup Account

Modified on Wed, Oct 11, 2023 at 8:45 AM

This is part 2 of Setting Up Contractor Access to Mason IT Resources. The process starts at https://gmufacilities.freshdesk.com/en/support/solutions/articles/33000242472-contractor-access-to-mason-wifi-and-a-mason-email.

These directions are the contractor's to follow. They will need to set up their password, go to https://its.gmu.edu/knowledge-base/how-to-sign-up-for-patriot-pass/.

Select “I know my G number and Claim Code."

You will be asked to enter your G number and claim code. Please enter your G number (including a capital G), and your claim code is your date of birth in a six-digit format (mmddyy) [ex. January 1st, 1989, 010189].

From there, you will be asked to answer security questions, set up an alternative email address, and create your PatriotPass password.

You will also need to set up 2-factor authentication. Please visit https://its.gmu.edu/knowledge-base/how-to-get-started-with-2fa/  for more information and step-by-step directions.

Email is no longer automatically created for these types of accounts. If you need a gmu.edu email address, please email your Mason Facilities sponsor and ask them to have a gmu.edu email added to your access.

To log into your email, go to http://office365.gmu.edu/mail-page/index.html and enter your netID and password. Or you can set up Outlook on your computer. Heads-up: Outlook email might not be ready immediately, but it should be available in the next couple of days. Microsoft does an account upload every three days.
