The Facilities IT department does not recommend using read.ai, as the company is unclear about how it handles your information and makes it very difficult to remove. Mason has neither purchased a license for read.ai nor evaluated the software for compliance with industry standards or Mason's privacy policies. Therefore, all Facilities Staff should opt out and stop read.ai recordings in any meeting where read.ai announces that it is recording.
Please note that read.ai will announce its presence at the beginning of a meeting and requires host approval to proceed. Always respond with "no" to this request.
Each user must take action to turn off read.ai individually, as this cannot be managed by others or through centralized administrative controls.
Recommended actions:
- To fully opt out of read.ai and delete all data recorded from a meeting, type "opt out" in the meeting chat.
- To stop read.ai from recording in future meetings, type "read stop" in the meeting chat.
- Avoid reading any emails from read.ai. If you created a read.ai account, please delete your account. https://support.read.ai/hc/en-us/articles/12616698040339-How-do-I-delete-my-account
